Macros

I would appreciate some suggestions of uses for Macros in sales spreadsheets.

RE: Macros

Hi Katie, thank you for your post. In answer to your question, a macro is a recording of keystrokes and mouse clicks, any task that you wish to duplicate can be recorded as a macro. This means any repetitive task that you undertake on your spreadsheet will be recorded and replayed when you run the macro. Perhaps a calculaltion that involves the same cells and the same formula is one example, or if you wish to undertake a formatting task which is a common repetitive task, record your macro and run it whenever you need. If you record a macro and save it in the Personal Macro Workbook it will be available in every worksheet that you open. I hope that helps, regards Pete.

Excel tip:

Adding multiple rows in an Excel 2010 Worksheet

If you want to add more than one row to an Excel Worksheet, drag select the number or rows you want added to the spreadsheet.

Then right click on these selected rows, choose Insert from the menu, and the new rows will be added above the rows you first selected.
