Making a large file smaller

Hi

I have a file that thinks it is 65536 rows when actually it is only 175 rows deep - how do I completely delete those extra rows, so that the file will be a lot smaller?

RE: Making a large file smaller

Hi Tim, I can only assume that you have an entry somewhere in the final row of your worksheet, if this is the case, go to the first column of the row beneath your last row (176) select that entire row, then use the keyboard combination CTRL+Shift+Down Arrow to select all rows and columns beneath and then use Menu Command Edit, Clear All. Hope that works...

Excel tip:

How to apply the same formatting and data to multiple sheets at the same time in Excel 2010

When you want to format more than one sheet in a worksheet exactly the same way, Ctrl-click the tabs of the sheets you want to group together and they will all turn white. While they are grouped, anything you enter in one sheet gets entered into the others.

After you have done this, remember to click on the tabs to take them out of the group so that you do not accidentally insert data in multiple sheets when you just want to insert data in one.
