PowerBI - Export to Excel
Hi,
Is there a excel button that is hidden under export in PowerBI desktop. When I and a colleague had PowerBI training with STL, my colleague recalls that the trainer had a button that was export to excel underneath export. We do not have this available on our tenant and I cannot find any information to know if it exists. Our tenant has export to excel and .csv turned on.
Thanks
Ian
RE: PowerBI - Export to Excel
Hi Ian
In Power BI Desktop, there isn't a specific button labeled "Export to Excel" directly under the export options. However, you can export data from visuals to Excel. Here are the steps to do so:
Select the visual: Click on the visual from which you want to export data.
More options: Click on the three dots (ellipsis) in the top-right corner of the visual.
Export data: Choose "Export data" from the dropdown menu.
Choose format: You can then select the format you want to export the data in, such as Excel (.xlsx) or CSV (.csv)
If your tenant has the export to Excel and CSV options turned on, you should be able to see these options when you follow the steps above. If you don't see the "Export data" option, it might be due to permissions or settings configured by your Power BI administrator.
Let me know if that gets you closer to the solution
Kind regards
Richard
