X LOOKUP

I would like if possible for XLOOPUP to search for a reference in a sheet and then to sum the figures in a referenced column that have that reference. Is that possible? If so, please give an example of the formula. Thanks.

RE: X LOOKUP

Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you for the forum question.

To me it sounds like you need a SUMIFS function.

=SUMIFS(Sum_Range,Criteria_Range1,Criteria1,Criteria_Range2,Criteria2........) Up to 128 Criteria.

=SUMIFS("The column with the figures", "The column where all the the references can be found","The reference to be found in the column with all the references")

Some examples of CTRL key shortcuts in Excel 2010

Did you know that the old CTRL key shortcuts haven't changed from previous versions of Excel to the 2010 version?

They remain exactly the same:

Ctrl+B for bold
Ctrl+I for italics
Ctrl+P to Print
Ctrl+S to Save
