Pre populating cells based on what has been selected

I've previously used the IF logic with drop down lists to populate cells based on what had been selected in another cell. Is there a better way to do this?

=IF(OR([@Action]='Drop-down Lists'!$B$1,[@Action]='Drop-down Lists'!$B$2),"JC","")

For my new spreadsheet, the list will be quite long as I want to be able to automatically enter a team name and business focus if a specific colleague has been listed and another column.

Thank you!

RE: Pre populating cells based on what has been selected

Hi Janine,

Thank you for the forum question.

I have created an example file which you will find attached.

In my example I have used range names and a Indirect function.

I hope my example file makes sense. I have added some explanations on the worksheet.

If you cannot see the attachment refresh your browser. If you cannot see it still wait 10 minutes and try again.

If you have any problems with understanding my solution or the attachment, please let me know.

Kind regards
