Power Query - Count specific item in a column

Hi,

I am trying to produce a report in Power Query to count a value. I have a table with this information

I would like to implement a "Count" excel function in Power Query to count and transfer directly to the report without having to write formulas to transfer the value every month.

For example.

I have raw data that produces a value in column Y that is reported each month, e.g Jan, Feb, Mar and so on.

the only way I've found is by using VLOOKUP to do this however would like to know if there is a better way to do this. Any help will be greatly appreciated

RE: Power Query - Count specific item in a column

Hi Kay,

Thank you for the forum question.

I am sorry but it is not clear to me what you want.

"I am trying to produce a report in Power Query to count a value. I have a table with this information"

Do you mean that you like a countif want to count specific criteria you have listed in a table? You can add any number of calculated columns in Power Query. You can also write Power Query M codes to code it.

I will need more details to help you.

RE: Power Query - Count specific item in a column

Hi Kay,

I have sent you an email with a solution. When you refresh the query your report automatically add future months and do the count.
