Hi Nigel,
Thank you for the forum question.
The Pivot Chart is a "mirror" of the Pivot table. If you change the Pivot Chart you change the Pivot Table. If you change the Pivot table you change the chart.
You can create two Pivot Tables one to display the data and want to control the chart.
