Vlookup and spreadsheet comparison

If we have two very different spreadsheet that is not in the same format how are able to use vlookup to compare and find discrepancies?

RE: Vlookup and spreadsheet comparison

Hi Edy,

Thank you for the forum question and thank you for the nice feedback. I am happy that you found the course useful.

To compare two spreadsheet you will need a unique identifier for each record on each sheet. It could be that you have a list of invoice numbers on one sheet and you want to compare it with another list of invoice numbers on another sheet.

You have many option to compare two lists like this.

I have attached a file where you can find different solutions.

Excel tip:

Rotating Text in an Excel 2010 Worksheet

Maybe you want to draw attention to certain text or you just simply want to make your worksheet look more exciting!

One of the things you might consider is, rotating the text in a particular cell or set of cells.

1) Select a cell you would like to rotate
2) Click the ''Home'' tab in the Ribbon
3) Click ''orientation'' in the ''Alignment'' section
4) A pop up menu will appear with a few choices, if you want to decide yourself how many degrees to rotate the text, then click ''Format Cell Alignment.''
