Hi! I am wondering how can I edit a decision tree problem in the excel?

I have already got a tool add-ins, but it seems like I can not change it, could you give me some help please?

Thanks

RE: Decision tree

Hi Sihui,

Thank you for the forum question.

I need to have a bit more information to be able to help you.

When you say Decision Tree problem. Do you mean that you have created a smart art graphic (a decision tree) from the insert tab in Excel?

If this is the point you have the smart art tools (two contextual tabs you get when the decision tree is selected).

Which tool add-ins do you mean?

RE: Decision tree

Hi Jens

Yes, I just created a “two contextual tabs” decision tree, but I am not sure how I can expend it by changing end notes to the chance notes. It would be really great if you could help me out.

Btw, I am using the lastest version of excel on Mac.

Thanks!

RE: Decision tree

I found a website where there is a step by step guide:

I was looking for it everything and will follow the steps there!

RE: Decision tree

Hi Sihui,

You can also find a number of Excel add-ins to do the decision tree.

I found this video on Youtube

Perfect!

Thank you so much!

Excel tip:

Create your own custom list on Excel 2010!

If you know how to use the auto-fill option on Excel then why not create your own customs lists?

The auto fill feature saves you time by allowing you to enter one of the list entries into a cell and then use your mouse to automatically drag the rest of the list into the cells below, above or to either side of the initial cell. When using your mouse to perform this task you will see a thin black cross appear at the bottom right hand side of the cell. Click, hold and drag to make the list appear.

Default lists include weekdays and months. To create your own list in Excel 2010 do the following;

>File
>Options
>Advanced
>Scroll right to the bottom of the page and you will see a buttom "edit custom lists", click this button
>enter your list in the list entries
>click add

Now try it out. Good luck.
