Vlookup & Macros
If have to do the same vlookup between two data sets to check the values match up in both, if I conduct the vlookup exercise as normal but start recording a macro before & then stop the macro once complete, is it possible to automate this each month, bearing in mind the source data will have changed each month?
RE: Vlookup & Macros
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for the forum question and thank you for the nice feedback.
Yes it is possible.
Without knowing the exact process I will not be able to tell you, the steps you need to get it right.
Hints:
If both tables are in the same workbook it is much easier to get it right.
If you have the tables in two different workbooks the file names must be the same each time you need to run the macro.
If the number of records are different each time you need to run the macro, make sure you select the Table Array with the keyboard short cuts (Ctrl Shift -> Ctrl Shift (Down arrow)).
Remember that the computer is stupid. You will have to tell it everything.
May I suggest the you record the macro and test it in a copy of you file.
Please let me know if you have problems with the macro, then I can help you getting it right.
Kind regards
