Formula to look for a value (in text format) depending on condit
Hello,
I constantly come across this issue when building a dashboard, and spend hours trying to figure it out to then abandon it altogether.
Basically, I would like a formula that lists the most popular brands based on the number of times it appears in the database, based on the two factors - the company group, which you can select on the drop down menu of the dashboard.
I am not sure, if i am making much sense. But, i have tried to use the INDEX MATCH formula, but it only works on the first row and after that it just gives me the same value, or in this case, brand.
PLEASE HELP!!
thanks
S

Hi Silva
That does make sense.
Trying to use a formula to display multiple lines is rather difficult.
Have you considered using a small pivot table filtered to the top items? That might be easier and more adaptive than a formula.
That would be one technique recommend on our Dashboard course.
