Drop down lists
how to create a second drop down list that update based on the value of the first one.
eg. if I have two columns, one with countries and one with cities, if I select USA in the first drop down column, then I only see in my second drop down the cities in the USA
RE: drop down lists
Hi Clélia-elsa,
Thank you for the forum question.
Please find attached file.
If you click in column A you can select a country. This will control the cities you can select in column B. I am using dynamic ranges so I can add more countries and cities without updating the rules. Select column B inside the dynamic range and click datavalidation, you can see how I reference the dynamic ranges in the Indirect function.
I hope my example make sense
Kind regards

Excel tip:Using basic functions without doing formulasWhen you highlight figures Autocalc tells you the total in the bottom right of the screen, but if you right click on the sum it will give you some basic functions. The functions are Min, Max, Average, Sum, Count, and Count Nums. |
