Initialization of the data source failed!
I'm using excel 2013 and 2010 and I get this message when I interact with the Pivot Table. It is not because it is a newer data model opened in an older version as my colleagues don't have this problem. Any advice? Thank you.

Initialization of the data source failed.
Check the database server or contact your database administrator. Make sure the external database is available, and then try the operation again. If you see this message again, create a new data source to connect to the database.
RE: Initialization of the data source failed!
Hi Clara,
Thank you for the forum question.
Is the source data from a database??
If yes which one??
If it is from a MS Access Database do you have MS Access installed on your pc??
Do you use PowerPivot?
Sorry I answer your question with questions, but I need a little bit more information to help you.
Kind regards
