When I filter some rows reduce in height so much they seem not to be there. The only way I know to reveal them is to painstakingly drag to height. How can i prevent this happening please?

RE: Excel

Hi Liz,

Thank you for the forum question.

Do you have any hidden rows in the worksheet?

If not select all the rows in the list. Click the HOME tab and in the CELLS group click format and AutoFit Row Height.

If you have hidden rows you will have to unhide them and do the same as above.

I hope this can solve the problem, but I have read about the issue. It can also be a bug in the workbook.

RE: Excel

No, there are no hidden rows. Even if I select all and unhide all rows, the problem rows stay tiny-height.
Autofit Row Height does not help.
I had tried all that before posting this query. I've had it before. Suggest a bug isn't really helpful. Are you sure there's no other explanation.

RE: Excel

Hi Liz,

Is it possible to have a look at yout workbook.

If you send it to: info@stl-training.co.uk

If you wrap text or merge cells, it can have an effect on how filters work.

RE: Excel

Hello
There are merged cells. However, I copied the sheets into another tab, removed all merged cells and tried again. The minimal-height rows seem to be those filtered out.

RE: Excel

Hi Liz,

I have got the workbook. The filters are working correct. When you filter a column Excel hides the rows. Excel is not changing the row height but hide them. When you look at the row numbers Excel indicates where rows are hidden. Some have problems with changing row height when filtering, but as I said, I can see this is the issue in your workbook.

Excel tip:

Brighten up your Excel 2010 Spreadsheet by changing the colours of the gridlines

Excel 2010 allows you to change the colour of grid lines instead of keeping them in boring black.

Select the File tab on the Ribbon, click Options, click Advanced, scroll down to ''Display options for this worksheet.'' Next to ''Gridline colour,'' choose your favourite colour, then once you've done this, click OK. Easy!
