RE: How to remove intials

Hi Maria,

Thank you for the forum question.

You have a number of options depending on your Excel knowledge.

1. Select the column with the names
2. Go to the Data tab and click Text to Columns in the Data Tools group. This will open a wizard.
3. On step 1 just click Next.
4. On step 2 tick Comma and click next.
5. On step 3 click in the columns in the data preview where you have the in formation you want to remove (second column).
6. select the option Do not import column (skip).
7. Click Finish

This is the fastest way of doing it but please let me know if you the method do not work with your data.

Excel tip:

Multiple Lines of Text in a Cell

As an alternative to the Text Wrapping facility, type a word or two, press Alt+Enter to get a new line, type more text, and continue the process for as many lines as you need. Enter as normal when you have finished.

The line break is not affected by changing the column width, as text wrapping. To remove this you must edit the cell and remove the invisible character and replace with a normal space.
