RE: Microsoft Powerpoint

Hi Caroline,

Do you mean the way to get Online (e.g Youtube) Videos to work with all versions of PowerPoint 2007-2013?

2010-2013 have the embed code facility but 2007 doesn't.

If that's the case I can write out the instructions for you

RE: Microsoft Powerpoint

Hi,

Yep that's what I meant, please could you write it out for me again?

Thanks alot,
Caroline

RE: Microsoft Powerpoint

Sure thing Caroline,

First you need the Developer Tab on your Ribbon
To get this in 2010-2013
File/Options/Customise the Ribbon/Tick the Developer Check Box
Click Ok

In 2007
Office Button/Options/Popular/Show Developer Tab in the Ribbon

On that Tab click on the More Controls Button (Hammer/Spanner)
Choose Shockwave Flash Object from the list
When you click ok, your cursor allows you to Click and Drag out a “Flash Video Box”

Right Click the Box/Properties or Choose Properties from the Developer Ribbon

On the Line MOVIE paste in a Youtube URL

e.g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiAXME2zaQA

Remove the watch? and replace the = for a /

https://www.youtube.com/v/AiAXME2zaQA

Now close the Properties box
Preview the slide show
The Video will load

There is a shorter method if you are using Web Videos in 2010-2013 only
Got to Youtube or Video page.
Right Click on the Video and get the Embed code and Copy it
Or copy it from the description below the video
In PowerPoint head to Insert/Video from Web
Paste the Embed code you copied from the website into the box.
Preview the Slide Show

I hope that helps you
