Google like search function in Excel

Hi,
I need to create a search box that as you type displays the most realevent result. For example if you just type V it brings up all entries starting in V, type Ve and it brings up all entries starting in Ve, type Veg etc etc. you should then be able to select the item you need similar to how Google predicts your search. The result needs to appear in the box where I type as I then want to lookup other associated info to that column.

I can only work in 2003 unfortunately.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks
Simon

RE: Google like search function in Excel

Hi Simon,

Thank you for the forum question.

I have not been able to find out to do exactly what you want but I have created a macro which can give you some good ideas to work with search options.

I have used option buttons (form tools) to define the column I want to search through.

Kind regards

Excel tip:

Screen Splitters in Excel

Screen splitter icons can be set from the ribbon bar, or dragged from the scroll bars. The icon just above the up arrow on the right scroll bar controls the horizontal splitter; the icon to the right of the right arrow on the bottom scroll bar controls the vertical splitter.

These icons can be double-clicked to split the screen at the top left of the cell currently in use.
