Macro Excel

I have created a macro for the first time. I have just tried to run it on a document ive created. I am getting the message:-

Because of your security settings, macros have been disabled. To run macros you need to open this workbook and choose enable macros.

BUT

I have clicked in macro security, macro settings and changed the option to enable all macros.

I have saved, come out the workbook, opened it back up again and tried to run the macro, but keeps coming back to "Because of your security settings, macros have been disabled. To run macros you need to open this workbook and choose enable macros" and unsure where else i may have security for my macro not to run.

Help! thank you.

RE: Macro Excel

Hi Nikki,

Thank you for the forum question.

It is a good idea to work with macros in Excel. Most people can save time.

First of all it is not a good idea to set the security settings to "Enable all macros". This can be dangerous because it is easy to create a macro which can harm your files or your company's files if someone want to harm you.

I always tell my clients to choose the second option "Disable all macros with notification".

Normally when we open a macro enable workbook Excel will ask us if we want to enable the macros. Sometimes Excel open a dialogue box and sometimes we get a security warning bar between the ribbon and the formula bar. You will need to enable the macros by pressing enable content.

If you do not get the option I would like you try to record a new macro and save it in a macro enable workbook and see if the same is happening with the new workbook.

Please let me know if you need more assistants.
