Consolidated pivot tables

I would get a better understanding on how to deal with different set of data and consolidate them into a single pivot table that allow perform comparations.

RE: Consolidated pivot tables

Hello Hortensia,

Thank you for your post. Excel has a Pivot Table consolidation wizard which allows you to consolidate different sets of data into one Pivot Table. You can consolidate different Excel tables or different Access / SQL data sets. The tool can be opened by using the following keyboard shortcut in Excel: Alt+D , then P. From here you can choose your data sources to consolidate.

The only thing to note is that the data sources need to contain the same headings and there should not be any empty rows or columns inside the data.

When you open the wizard, select the "Multiple Consolidation Ranges" option, then follow the steps to add the different data sets to the Pivot Table.

I hope this helps

Kind regards

Excel tip:

Adding a comment to a formula

1. At the end of the formula, add a + (plus) sign.
2. Type the letter N, and in parentheses, type your comment in quotation marks.

eg.

=CurrentAssets / CurrentLiabilities+ N("The formula returns Current Ratio")
