Merging cells but keeping both sets of date

I have 2 columns both with data for; first name in column A and a surname in Column B.

I need to merge the 2 columns so both the first and surnames are in the same column but when I use merge it only keeps the data from column A.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks

RE: Merging cells but keeping both sets of date

Hi Jess,

Thank you for the forum question.

You have two options to do what you want.

If you want to merge A1 and B1 in C1 you can type:
=A1 & " " & B1
or
=CONCATENATE(A1 & " ",B1)
in C1

I hope this is what you need.

Excel tip:

Move data worksheet to worksheet

To move data from one worksheet to another, highlight the data.

Select and hold down the ALT key and position the mouse on the border of the selection until the mouse pointer displays four-headed arrows.

Drag the selection down to the destination worksheet tab.

When the arrow touches the tab, Excel switches to the desired worksheet. Now drag the selection to the correct position. Let go of the mouse and then the ALT key.

To copy data from one worksheet to another, select and hold down the CTRL+ALT keystroke combination and perform the steps above.
