Dynamic data ranges

how to make a dynamic data ranges

RE: dynamic data ranges

Hello Marc,

Thank you for your question. The easiest way to make a dynamic data range is to format an empty or an existing data range as a table (Home - Styles - Format as Table).
Afterwards, by dragging the tiny blue corner of the last cell downwards or sideways, you can dynamically add rows or columns to your table.

The advantage of formatting as a table is that it behaves like a named range and you can use it in functions. It has an absolute cell reference and you can link to it from other sheets in the workbook.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

Excel tip:

Counting Blanks

Some times you want to check if there are cells missing data in your range. You can use the COUNTBLANK FUNCTION to acheive this. It is =COUNTBLANK(Range). Note Cells with formulas that return "" (empty text) are also counted. Cells with zero values are not counted.
