Powerpivot - compatability with Foxpro

I am interested in using powerpivot however our software system uses Microsoft visual FoxPro (free table directorys)

Is this compatible with Powerpivot?

RE: Powerpivot - compatability with Foxpro

Hi Barry

Thanks for getting in touch. There is no "Foxpro" direct connection available, but you should be able to connect to it using a different method.

For example, if you have the ODBC drivers installed you should be able to use the ODBC connection to pull into PowerPivot.

Here is a link discussing the ODBC drivers:

Alternatively you can export first (to say CSV) and use that as an interim file format.

On Excel 2010 you can download PowerPivot for free so try it out and see which format works best for you.

Excel tip:

Use Paint Brush to Format More than one Cell

To copy a format to many cells or ranges

1. Select the cell with the format that you want to copy

2. Double-click on the paint brush

When you move to the cell where you want to paste the format you will notice that a paint brush follows the cursor.

Paste the format to all the cells or ranges you need to format.

When finished go back to the paint brush on the tool bar and single click on it to deactivate the function.
