I am trying to create a graph based on "number of project" per month with the costs below the dates on the X axis.
I am using excel 2007 and it only allows me to make standard graphs / histograms

Hi Graham
Thanks for getting in touch. What you're asking should be possible, though you are trying to plot three series:
1. Number of projects
2. Date
3. Cost
A simple chart will allow you to work with two series. If you want to plot a third you'll need to add a secondary axis, or by using a bubble chart.
Can you elaborate or link to an example online of what you're after?
