PowerPoint

Hi,

I'm adding animation to a graph I have created on PowerPoint. Is it possible to to add animation to specfic point of data on the graph or can you only add animation to a whole series? I'm trying to achieve each piece od data to appear 'on click' and not the whole series.

Thanks
Rebecca

RE: PowerPoint

Hi Rebecca

Thanks for getting in touch. You can animate an entire chart or just certain parts of it, such as a series.

After applying animation to the whole chart, look for Effect Options on the Animations tab. There you should see Chart Options and the ability to animate By Series and By Category (depending on the animation effect chosen).

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

RE: PowerPoint

Thanks Gary that's really useful.

I have added my animation however, I have added my categories to appear 'on click' but when I preview my animation they are appear in sequence without me clicking my mouse. How can I change this so each category only appears after I click my mouse?

Thanks

Rebecca

RE: PowerPoint

Hi

Thanks for your reply, I'm glad it's working. The Preview will always show it animating without you clicking. To properly preview it as it will appear in the finished presentation, press SHIFT + F5. This will play from the current slide.

To experiment further I recommend opening the Custom Animation pane where you can see each animation 'event' and modify it individually.

RE: PowerPoint

Thanks gary that's really helpful.

One more question.... Is it possible to use animation on text boxes? I have tried to do so but can't so far.

Thanks

Rebecca

RE: PowerPoint

Hi Rebecca

There shouldn't be a problem with this. Create your text box, and with it selected choose your animation effect from the Animations tab.

What happens when you try it?

PowerPoint tip:

Rearrange bulleted text quickly

Here are some handy shortcut keys for rearranging bullet points on your slides.

Simply click anywhere within the bullet point you wish to reposition; then hold down Shift + Alt then use the Arrow Up or Arrow Down key depending on which direction you want to move the bullet point in (up or down).

The bullet point will move up or down one bullet point at a time.
