I agree it is possible the wrong inputs in trend lines could lead your output to be skew. There are different types of trend lines linear/Power/Moving Average etc, remember the trend line only applies to each individual series and not a trend of all the data on the graph.

What is it specifically you want to achieve if you give me an example I can look into it and let you know?
