Retrieving data from different work sheets

how to retrieve data from a different worksheet?

RE: Retrieving data from different work sheets

Hi Jesseekah

Thanks for getting in touch. It depends what you need to do with the data.

I can see you have attended our Excel Advanced course, part of that is the VLOOKUP function. This is perfect for pulling data from a different worksheet. The function looks like this:

=VLOOKUP(lookup_value, table_array, col_index_num, [match type])

As an example, if your data is in cell A1, and your other sheet is on sheet2 in the range A1 to G55, and inside that data you need the third column of information:

=VLOOKUP(A1, Sheet2!A1:G55, 3, FALSE)

For more information consult your courseware from the course, which you can access by going to Your Account > History / Courseware and downloading the manual.

Kind regards
