Excel print of locked document

Good morning,

I wanted to ask how can I print out an excel document. I need to print out only selected information on a spreadsheet that is locked. I do have the password for the spreadsheet so I did unlocked it but it wouldn't let me print all selected informations I need. It prints out only something e.g. Name and time in. Bu ti also need time out, group, etc...

Could you help me please?

Thank you,

Lucy

RE: Excel print of locked document

Hi Lucy,

Have you checked the page breaks? and set print areas? It does not sound like a protection/locking issue.

Thanks
Paul

RE: Excel print of locked document

Hello,

Well the problem is that the spreadsheet has over 4000 names in but it is for past 3 years. So every year logged on one spreadsheet and now what we trying to do is to print out only some information from those 3 years. I also tried FILTER so I could get only info I need but it wouldn't filter all information I know on the spreadsheet is. It would only give me e.g 3 rows of the same person I'm looking for but I know there is at least 50 rows with the same name. Does that make sense?

Thank you.

Lucy

RE: Excel print of locked document

can you email me the spreadsheet? paul@stl-training.co.uk

RE: Excel print of locked document

I'm afraid I can't do that as it is confidential medical document. Even though I know that would be the best option...

RE: Excel print of locked document

You can hide columns and rows to make the printing more bespoke. Major issues normally include a "set print area" or pre-set page breaks. Also make sure you don’t have any blank lines in your data as that can make filters not work properly.

RE: Excel print of locked document

I will try. Also I already told my colleague to create a new spredsheet for this as when I saw it it is a mess.

Thank you so much for your help.

Have a nice day,

Lucy

Excel tip:

Select only cell that contain text to lock format

For selecting cells that only contain Text in Excel

By selecting cells that only contain text, you can delete, fill or protect cells of this type.

Use short cut to Go to box (F5) or Edit, Go to
In the dialog box, click special button & select Constants and only check text or any other desired type.

Click OK.

And text cells will all be highlighted for you to apply format. Please note only works on one sheet at a time.
