Sum value incorrect

Liz has attended:
SharePoint course

Sum value incorrect

Col J has the formula H68/93
Col H has the formula G68*F68
The values in J are 11,42,19,15,15
Using a calculator this gives the value 102
However, using SUM in excel give 100

Why would this be please?

Hello Liz,

Thank you for your question regarding Excel SUM values not adding up correctly.

Since I do not have access to your data I cannot tell why Excel produces a different answer to your calculator.

Try selecting all the cells you are referring to and increase the decimals to 2 places. Are the figures still whole numbers as in your enquiry? Or, do they have values after the decimal point? If there are values after the decimal point then Excel has added the values correctly.

Excel tip:

Create a unique items table from a duplicating table

1. Ensure that your list has column headings
2. Select the entire list
3. From the menu bar, select DATA, FILTER, ADVANCED FILTER
4. Select "Filter the list, in place", and tick the "Unique Records Only" box
5. Click OK, filtered list appears.
