Can you insert you tube videos into powerpoint

RE: MS Powerpoint

Hello Sheetal,

Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft PowerPoint course with Best STL.

Thank you for your question regarding how you could insert a You Tube video into PowerPoint 2007.

There are a few steps involved so please follow these carefully: Please make sure your computer can play flash video If not, you need to download an Adobe Flash-player freely from http://www.adobe.com. If you have downloaded an old one, it is strongly recommended to download the newest one, uninstall the old one first then install the new one. This is because if you installed the Adobe Flash-player, the ActiveX Control Shockwave Flash Object would be installed automatically.

1) In PowerPoint, click the Office button then click PowerPoint Options at the bottom

2) In the Popular section, enable the check box entitled 'Show Developer Tab in the ribbon'

3) Go to YouTube and get URL of the YouTube video you wish to add to your PowerPoint slide. Make sure it plays, then right-click the movie and click 'Copy Embed Code' and then paste this into Notepad.

4) In PowerPoint, select the Developer ribbon and click the More Control icon found in the 'Controls' group. (It looks like a hammer crossed with a spanner)

5) In the list of controls scroll down until you see 'Shockwave Flash Object' and click on this.

6) Click somewhere on the slide where you wish to place the movie. This puts a square object onto the slide which should then be re-sized accordingly and placed exactly where you want it to be.

7) Right-click on the object and select Properties/Alphabetic.

8) In the Notepad, select and copy the code that begins with "http://..........and ends with=?" (In-between quotes... don't copy the quotes)

9) In the Properties section, look for the Movie section and paste the code into the right-hand section

10) Modify and set the following parameters: - Since the video file from YouTube has a Start/Pause control built into it, if the Playing property is set to True, you can set it False to disable the Start/Pause control. If you don't want the video be played repeatedly, in the Loop property, select False (click the cell to get a down arrow, click the arrow, and select False.) In the EmbedMovie property, click True, you can embed this presentation to another computer. Of course, in order for the YouTube video to run, the Shockwave Flash Object control still needs to be registered on any computer that runs this presentation. Click the Slide Show button and the movie should run!!! Try it and let me know if you got it to work!

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.
