Excel Links

Is there a way i can view what files link to my current spreadsheet? I know i can view the files my spreadsheet links to by using the "edit - Links" tool but this doesn't show the files other users have linked to my spreadsheet.

RE: Excel Links

Hello Lisa,

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your question regarding Excel links.

When links are created in one file which link to another file, this action creates a target file and a source file. The target file contains the link to the source file and you can only view these links directly from the target file using 'Edit Links'.

A target file can of course also be a source file to another target file and you will not be able to see these links using 'Edit Links' because you are trying to view them from a 'source' file perspective.

Hope this makes sense!

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.

Excel tip:

How to select certain data in an Excel 2010 workbook

If you want to select the correct data set in a page full of data, the most accurate and efficient way of doing this is to use the ''Shift and Click'' technique.

For example: If you want to select all data in cells A2 to E10, then click on cell A2, hold down the Shift key and click on cell E10 and all the data you want to see is highlighted.

Keep holding down the Shift key and you can move from cell E10 to any other cell in the spreadsheet.
