Pivot tables

Can a pivot table be run off two separate tabs within a work sheet?

RE: Pivot tables

Hi Susan,

Thank you for your question.

Open the spreadsheet and click somewhere within the data set of one of the tabs and use the following keyboard shortcuts:

Alt+D followed by P should bring up the pivot table dialogue box that use to appear in 2003. Now choose 'Multiple Consolidation Ranges' and decide whether to have a page field added or not. Highlight the first range and click Add and then add the second range from the other sheet and click Add.

It will then create the pivot table for you.

Please find the link below to a YouTube demonstration:

I hope this helps and answers your question.

Simon

Excel tip:

Naming and Using Constants

Constants make calculations easier so worksheets are more easily understood. Constant values also need to be given relevant and memorably names. It is also easier to change the value of a constant.

For example:
Instead of entering 17.5% in each cell when you generate a VAT amount you could name a Constant "VAT" and assigning a "0.175" value to it. To do this:

From the 'Insert' menu select 'Name', then select 'Define'.

Enter the constant
