Pivot tables

is it possible to link two spreadsheets to one pivot table? If so, how?

RE: pivot tables

on your keyboard select Alt D, then P. This will bring up a pivot table wizard. Select the "multiple consolication ranges" option, go next, and next again, select the range and make sure you click on add. then your done.

The pivot table from multiple sheets isn't as flexible as a regular pivot table -- all the data fields use the same summary function, and there's only one row field. However, while you're setting up the pivot table you can create one or more page fields, and create labels for the data ranges.

Excel tip:

How to select certain data in an Excel 2010 workbook

If you want to select the correct data set in a page full of data, the most accurate and efficient way of doing this is to use the ''Shift and Click'' technique.

For example: If you want to select all data in cells A2 to E10, then click on cell A2, hold down the Shift key and click on cell E10 and all the data you want to see is highlighted.

Keep holding down the Shift key and you can move from cell E10 to any other cell in the spreadsheet.
