Conditional formatting in pivot tables

Hello,

I am able to apply a number of different conditional formatting rules to all value data in a pivot table. For example, red for all values greater than £10,000. However, I run into trouble when I try to apply different conditional formatting rules in certain cells in a pivot table from other cells in the same pivot table. For example, for cells row A10 to G10, red for values greater than £10,000 but for cells row A15 to G15, green for values less than or equal to 5% as it has a different set of data. Is there a work around or is conditional formatting not possible within certain selected cells from other cells in the same pivot table?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jade

RE: Conditional formatting in pivot tables

Hi, I appear to be able to make this work using basic rules, so maybe you are using a set of data that I am not replicating accuratly. Can you either expand on the data or email me a simple example so i can have a look at it.

Thanks

Excel tip:

Recently used file list

Under the File menu, you may find a list of files at the bottom of the menu. These files represent the most recently used Excel spreadsheets. This file list provides a quick way for you to access your files.

You can disable the file list feature of Excel. This is done by

1. Choose Tools > Options menu. You will see the Options dialog box.
2. Ensure the General tab is selected.
3. Make sure the Recently Used File List check box is cleared.
4. Click on OK.
