Can you link groups of macros together to run oen after the other from one click

RE: Macros

Hello Dina,

Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Excel A|dvanced course with Best STL.

Thank you for your question regarding linking groups of macros to run one after the other.

The answer is yes... the solution... by creating another macro.

So, let us assume you have created 3 macros named Macro1,
Macro2 and Macro3. Create a fourth macro and call it something like Compile_Macro. After you click OK to accept the new macro name etc. click the Macros button in the Developer ribbon and select the first macro to be run and click Run. Follow the same procedure for the second macro and again for the third one. After all 3 macros have been run then click Stop Recording.

Now you can create a button either on the worksheet or on your Quick Access Toolbar assigning the Compile_Macro to it. So, whenever you want to run all 3 macros all you have to do is click the magic button containing your Compile_Macro.

It's best practice to test this out on a copy of the workbook first then after you have succeeded then use it on the main workbook.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.

Excel tip:

Adding a comment to a formula

1. At the end of the formula, add a + (plus) sign.
2. Type the letter N, and in parentheses, type your comment in quotation marks.

eg.

=CurrentAssets / CurrentLiabilities+ N("The formula returns Current Ratio")
