Capital projects

What constitutes a capital project as some projects cannot be capitalised?

RE: Capital projects

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

I believe the definition is as follows:

If the total expenditure on the project goes over £50,000 inclusive of VAT then it is deemed a Capital Project. Examples of such projects may be New Builds, land or refurbishment. There are however separate rules to an existing building as it must be a single building and it must add value to the building.

I hope this helps.

Regards

Simon

Management Training tip:

Setting To Do Lists

Improve your time management techniques by writing down your daily to do list for that day on the previous evening. You then don't have to get up and wonder "what do I need to do today" - you just hit the ground running.
