Conditional formatting

how do i make formatting consistence

RE: conditional formatting

Hi Christine

Thank you for your question. To make sure your conditional formatting behaves consistently select the cells which have your formatting applied to them and from the Home ribbon choose Conditional formatting > Manage rules. Click the active formatting rule and choose edit. Check the criteria Excel is using to trigger the conditional formatting. Many use a percentage of the total to drive the various formats and you may prefer to change the thresholds or switch from percentages to numbers.

I hope this helps - do let me know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

New to Excel 2010 - Sparklines!

Excel 2010 includes a new feature called Sparklines which are tiny charts that fit into a single cell and plot data in cells from the worksheet. There are a host of formatting and styles that can be applied to them and they are really quite interesting.

>insert
>sparklines
>Choose any style you want

You will be asked for the range and it will automatically select the cell your in to insert the sparklines.
