Tables

In the tables we added a bonus column which took the slary and times it by 10%. if you then want some on 20%, when you change one it change them all? How do you solve this?

RE: Tables

Hi Sharon

This is a problem you would also get when you copy the formula down in a normal range. Any figure in a formula would be replicated in all the subsequent rows. If you wanted some to receive 20% and some 10% then you would need to use an IF function in place of the straight calculation, and your table would have to contain some information that would indicate which rate would apply in each row

Hope this helps

Stephen

Excel tip:

Quick Absolute Cell References

When entering cell references in a formula you probably click the cell, or you may type in the cell reference. If you require any of the 4 variations, press the F4 key now before you press Enter to toggle around the relative and absolute entries ($signs).

Note that the F4 key outside of editing a formula is the Repeat key to repeat a previous action.
