Permissions & protections

I developed a 5(linked worksheet) workbook but seems to be locked out of one of the sheet by some sort of protection.

RE: permissions & protections

Hi Cecila,

Thank you for your question.

Do you mean you have one workbook with 5 sheets that are all linked and when you click on the sheet in question it doesn't appear?

What was the exact message you get?

Have you tried the following?

1. When you go to Tools and Protection, is there a menu option that says 'Unprotect Sheet' or 'Unprotect Workbook'?

2. Do you know if there is any VBA code in the Visual Basic Window as you can write code to protect sheets as well?

Regards

Simon

RE: permissions & protections

Hi Cecilia,

Could you please let me know how you got on after trying my advice from my forum response.

Is this now resolved?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Simon

RE: permissions & protections

The suggestions did not solve the problem. I have had to design a new spreadsheet without protection. As I don't have knowledge of VB yet, I obviously need to find a way to protect the spreadsheets and permit levels of usage but that is a matter for another day.

Excel tip:

Calculate age or service

The DATEDIF() function in Excel calculates the number of days, months, or years between two dates. So, this function makes it easy to calculate a person's age. To try this tip:

In a blank worksheet, type the birth date in cell A1, using slashes to separate day, month, and year.
In cell A2, type =DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),"y") and press ENTER.
