how do you count the number of instances there are in a set of data with conditions based on the content of other cells?

Thank you for your question.

To further clarify, do you mean if you change the condition/value of a particular cell, e.g C2 you would like to automate a calculation to identify the number of instances that condition appears in a set data range, i.e. A1:A20.
