Thank you for your patience & once again apologies for the delay.

When creating formulas, the cell references i.e A1 used in the calculation work on a relative cell reference. This means if you copy the formula to other cells the cell references will change relative to the location you copy to e.g. A1 to B1 to C1 etc.

If however, you want the cell reference to remain a constant in the formula, meaning when you copy the formula to new locations the cell reference remains as it is i.e. A1, you would need to absolute (fix) the cell reference by adding dollar signs, e.g. $A$1, this will always refer to a cell in a specific location. If the position of the cell that contains the formula changes, the absolute reference remains the same.

1) Open both Excel workbooks
2) Select Window then select Compare Side by Side with (Spreadsheet 2)
3) When you have finished, select Window again and click Close Side by Side
