Hyperlinks

Hi,

I am trying to add hyperlinks to cells in a spread sheet and am having trouble opening them when the spread sheet is sent to different people via email. I want to add PDF files to some cells and word documents to others. Do I need to save these documents as web pagers for them to work once the spreadsheet is sent to my colleagues via email?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Tom

RE: Hyperlinks

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for your question.

Do the people you are sending the files to all have access to the location of the original files? You may need to check their permissions.

Are the files on a shared drive?

Are you using Insert Hyperlink and then choosing the file?

Regards

Simon

RE: Hyperlinks

Hi Simon,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes the hyperlinked files are saved on a shared drive that all recipients of the excel file have access to.

Also, yes I am using insert hyperlink and then choosing the file.

Many Thanks,
Tom

RE: Hyperlinks

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your response.

There may be an issue with the Macro Security settings on each machine so check through Tools - Macros - Security.

Here is a link to a site that outlines the response by Microsoft on this issue which involves downloading the service pack.

I hope this helps.
