PPT crashing with charts

Powerpoint 2007 frequently crashes whenever charts are embedded. It is a really important feature to link a PPT chart to data and to be able to maniuplate the chart, but I fear touching it because it crashes so often. Are there any patches available, etc?

RE: PPT crashing with charts

Hi Adrian

Thank you for your question regarding the embedding of charts leading to PowerPoint crashing.

It would seem this is quite a common problem and could be down to a number of different reasons:

- Are you using Norton Anti-Virus? If so remove the Office plug-in. Please see link below for further info.

http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00387.htm

- The techniques used to embed and/or link the files in the PowerPoint presentation may have contributed.

If it's a large file being loaded and worked on across a LAN (local area network) this may contribute to the problem.

Move the file to your local drive to work on and then archive it back to the file share. This should to allow you to open and work without any crashes.

If neither of these options are applicable to your situation there may be a more technical reason to the problem, in which case I would refer the question to my colleague.

Do let me know if this resolves the issue. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post.

Kind Regards,
