Deleting a slide design template

I have created a new master template for use here at WaterAid, but in doing so had a number of false starts so I now have a couple of redundant templates in my available design templates that are not quite correct. How do I deleted them?

RE: Deleting a slide design template

Hi John,

Thank you for your question.

Did you use the Save As command and then the Design Template file type?

If so did you save the template to the default template area on your c:drive or on a shared network drive?

You will have to show hidden folders. Go to Tools and Folder Options, View tab and then Select Show Hidden files.

If it is on the c: use Windows explorer to navigate to the following:

C:\Documents and Settings\Trainer\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

Replace Trainer with your name.

If on a network drive, navigate to the folder and right click over the template and choose Delete. The template icon will look like a PowerPoint file but it has a yellow binding at the top.

I hope this answers your question.

Regards

Simon

PowerPoint tip:

Running PowerPoint Show Without Opening PowerPoint

If you double click on a PowerPoint show, PowerPoint opens and shows the first slide in development mode. To prevent this do the following:

Find your PowerPoint file.

Right click on the file's icon with your mouse.

Select 'Show' from the menu that is displayed. PowerPoint opens and runs your slide Show. When the show finishes, PowerPoint closes.

Your audience never sees the PowerPoint working window at all.

To make it easier place a shortcut to the file on your desktop for quick access.
