how do i delete a cell

Delete cells in excel

Hi Jocelyne,

Normally you just select the cell (by using arrow cursor keys to get to the cell, or click on it with your mouse), and then press DELETE on the keyboard.

Or right click a cell and choose Clear Contents.

Note these options do not clear the formatting for the cell.

Right click on a cell and choose Delete... to see more delete options such as an entire row or column.

I hope this helps. If this response has answered your query, please mark the question as resolved.

Kind regards,
Rich

Excel tip:

Use Paint Brush to Format More than one Cell

To copy a format to many cells or ranges

1. Select the cell with the format that you want to copy

2. Double-click on the paint brush

When you move to the cell where you want to paste the format you will notice that a paint brush follows the cursor.

Paste the format to all the cells or ranges you need to format.

When finished go back to the paint brush on the tool bar and single click on it to deactivate the function.
