Visio copying and pasting

Hi. I have 2 visio documents that I am trying to combine into 1 document. Copying and pasting (even Special Pasting) loses the formatting. Do you know of any way I can guarantee that formatting will be copied over, or any way I can copy a tab from one visio document to another (similar to Excel)?

Thanks!

RE: Visio copying and pasting

Hello Beth

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately Visio does not have a straightforward way of copying a whole page from one file to another. It seems that this is a problem that other people have come across as well; and there isn't a simple solution to it (more information about this on the following page if you're interested: http://help.lockergnome.com/office2/Moving-Visio-Pages-Files--ftopict700832.html ).

Kind regards
Amanda

c. Choose the Customize Ribbon section
d. Click the New Tab button (below the list of tabs on the right hand side of the dialog box)
e. Select the New Tab (Custom) and enter a name, by clicking the Rename button (below the list of tabs on the right hand side of the dialog box)
f. Select the New Group (Custom) and enter a name, by clicking the Rename button (below the list of tabs on the right hand side of the dialog box)
g. Add commands to your tab and group by locating them on the list on the right hand side (remembering that you can change the list using the drop down box at the top of the list of commands) and clicking the Add button between the two panes to add them to your tab and group
h. You can rearrange the commands in your group, the groups on any tab or the tabs, using the up and down arrow buttons beside the list of tabs.
i. Click OK to apply your changes
