Excel Bug: Huge left blue margin after big macro

Hi folks,

I have an 18.6MB file with LOADS of VB code to carry out automated accounting processes, and every now and then when I hit a event handling button excel carries out the associated macros but then adds a huge blue margin on the left of the screen which hides about a third of the all other open workbooks.

Has anyone seen this before?

Cheers

Rob
PS Not sure if this is an Excel or VBA question

RE: Excel Bug: Huge left blue margin after big macro

Hi Rob

Thanks for your question

In order to help me narrow down the possibilities could you send me a screen shot of the effect you describe?

My email is stephen@stl-training.co.uk

Stephen

RE: Excel Bug: Huge left blue margin after big macro

Hi Rob

Thanks for thre update. First let me aplogise for the delay in responding to your question

If this is still an outstanding problem for you can I suggest you send me a copy of the file (perhaps with the numbers altered to maintain confidentiality).Ii can then test the code
and attempt to recreate the effect you mention.

I would need to know which procedures are running when this happens

If I cannot replicate the effect, then I will ask you to repost immediately that the problem occures, telling me all the basic settings on your spreadsheet.

Regards

Stephen

RE: Excel Bug: Huge left blue margin after big macro

Hi Stephen,

I think this is one of those quirky excel bugs that only appears once in a blue moon....pardon the partial pun....so I think we can leave it for now, I was hoping that someone had elready come across this in the past and that as such a quick solution would be available. I'll report it to microsoft.

Cheers

Rob

Excel tip:

Hiding and unhiding rows using the keyboard

CTRL + 9 hides your columns and CTRL + SHIFT + ( unhides them although you would need to highlight the row letters either side as per normal
