(1) Line Spacing (2) Labels

(1) All my documents in the new version of Word in 1.5 spacing - where can I change to single spacing and change this as the default?

(2) Labels - I had previously set up my Avery labels and although the documents have been transferred across into this latest version of Word there are now no lines showing on the screen so I haven't a clue as to the outline of the label! How do I create a page of labels?

Thankyou very much

RE: (1) Line Spacing (2) Labels

Hello Barbara

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

(1) This can be dealt with by changing the Normal style for the document. On the Home ribbon, click on the small arrow in the bottom right corner of the Styles group of buttons on the ribbon. Click the dropdown arrow to the right of Normal in the list that appears on the screen; click Format in the bottom left corner and change line spacing to single. Click OK. You can choose in the Modify Style dialogue box whether this change applies just to the document you are working on or to all new documents based on this template; then click OK to apply the change.

(2) If you go to View, then tick the Gridlines checkbox and see if that helps to display the lines between the labels.

Kind regards
Amanda

RE: (1) Line Spacing (2) Labels

Hi Barbara

Thanks for your response - we can respond quicker to your posts if you post your replies to our responses here through the web site rather than replying to the email notification you receive.

If the gaps are not caused by line spacing, it might be paragraph spacing instead, in which case try changing the Normal style as I suggested before, but instead of going to Format - Paragraph and changing line spacing, adjust the paragraph spacing to 0pt after.

For the labels, try clicking near one of your labels and see if you get any extra tabs up in the ribbon at the top of the screen to do with Tables - if they do appear, they will be under Table Tools. Click on the Layout tab, and click the View Gridlines button on the left hand side.

Kind regards
Amanda
