Importing/Exporting Master Styles into all documents

Hi there,
I have created a master style sheet, saved as a template, and although I have been through and imported the styles from my master sheet into all my other templates, nothing appears to be happening!
All the documents hold their previous styles.
Should I 'clear all' on the styles and start again?
I'd like to get the templates rolled out very soon, so sorry for the urgent request!
Many thanks
Emma

RE: Importing/Exporting Master Styles into all documents

Hello Emma

Thank you for your question.

I had a chat to Anthony about what you covered on the training with him, and he suggests trying the following:

- delete out all the redundant styles from the destination templates before importing the styles from the master sheet.
- in the master sheet, the heading styles need to have different names from the standard heading styles (1, 2, 3 etc).

Hopefully this will help, otherwise we might need you to email the files so Anthony can have a look at them. The earliest opportunity he will have to do this is tomorrow (Friday).

Kind regards
Amanda

Hi Amanda,
I will give this a try and come back to you. If not, if Anthony could take a look tomrrow, that would be fantastic!
Big thanks
Emma

Hello Emma

Just checking to see if you've resolved the issues you were having with the template last week?

Kind regards
Amanda

RE: Importing/Exporting Master Styles into all documents

Hi Amanda,
Yes I think I'm there ... still just playing around with individual docs, as the master style sheet seems to only copy certain things over!
Not a problem though, I've been working through them.
Thanks again.
Emma

Find out what formatting has been used quickly

You can quickly find out what formatting (text, paragraph and section) has been applied to any text or paragraph in your document simply by going to Format - Reveal Formatting on the menu bar. The shortcut keys for this are Shift + F1.

You can use Reveal Formatting to compare the formatting applied to two different paragraphs or pieces of text as well.
