Percentage growth formula

Do you know what formula you type to work out the percentage growth of a series of numbers over a time period? i.e. how much each consecutive figure has increased/decreased by?

RE: percentage growth formula

Hi Caroline,

Thanks for your question.

The formula will involve a subtraction and a division. For example, if:

Month Value
Jan 12
Feb 6

then the formula is =(Feb value - Jan value)/Feb value

You will need to format the cell containing the formula to display as a percentage as well.
