If formula
When using the If formula, is there a way to change the colour of the cell as well as have a generic statement. For example: if you are looking at a basic budget spreadsheet and you want the if formula to state whether you are over or under budget, can you also change the cell to green if under and red for over.
RE: If formula
Hello Richard
Thank you for your question.
It should be possible to do this using Conditional Formatting (which lives on the Home Ribbon).
1. Select the cells that you want to colour red or green.
2. Go to Home - Conditional Formatting-Highlight Cell Rules.
3. I think the Text that Contains option should be ok for what you want to do - select this, enter over budget and pick your formatting to apply. Repeat steps 2 & 3 to set up the formatting for under budget as well.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards
Amanda
